More Fools than Wise is a student-run and organized chamber vocal ensemble. We were founded in 1998 by several students in the music department to increase the diversity of musical opportunities for undergraduates interested in a cappella music. Our repertoire has expanded to include modern choral music, vocal jazz, American folk, and even some popular music. Each year we perform at various events across campus and in the St. Louis area, and we end each semester with a large-scale concert.
Our Madrigal Feaste, for which we all dress in Renaissance garb, occurs on two nights at the end of the fall semester. According to Fools tradition, the Madrigal Feaste begins with a hysterical short play, then transitions to a full-length concert to showcase our current repertoire. The Feaste has been known to sell out within the first three days of ticket sales -- it's an event you don't want to miss.
The April Fools Concert happens near the end of the spring semester. Unlike the Madrigal Feaste, this event is strictly a concert performance and represents the culmination of an entire year's worth of rehearsing. The repertoire for this concert tends to be more adventurous and complex than our fall program.
